Die for You is back – Charlotte Gyllenhammar creates a new version of the upside-down oak over Drottninggatan. The work is on view from 8 September–20 October 2023.
Thirty years ago, people were greeted by a spectacular sight as they walked along Drottninggatan, near Sergels torg in Stockholm - an upside-down oak tree hanging between the buildings. The oak was one of artist Charlotte Gyllenhammar's very first artworks, Die for You, and it made many people encounter art in a new way.
On 8 September, a new version of the work, Die for You/Take root, 2023, in a collaboration between the artist, the Public Art Agency and Stockholm Art in the same location as thirty years ago.
