Matter, Void, and Body: Oteiza, Chillida, Iglesias, Muñoz and Plensa
This film cycle explores contemporary Spanish sculpture through the work of Jorge Oteiza, Eduardo Chillida, Cristina Iglesias, Juan Muñoz, and Jaume Plensa. Through documentaries, installation recordings, and archival footage, it traces the evolution of sculpture in Spain, from metaphysical explorations of emptiness and material-landscape dialogue to immersive environments and psychological narratives. The cycle is presented on the occasion of Cristina Iglesias being named Artist of the Year 2026 by the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation and the inauguration of her permanent site-specific work in Stockholm.
