Guided Tour: Hondalea

Stockholm School of Economics will present a screening of the film Guided Tour: Hondalea — a video work in which the viewer is taken inside Cristina Iglesias' site-specific sculpture Hondalea, located in a former lighthouse keeper's residence on the island of Santa Clara in the bay of Donostia-San Sebastián in northern Spain.

Hondalea is the artist's first sculpture in her hometown and one of the most significant works of her career. The title derives from the Basque word for "abyss in the sea." The work transforms a derelict lighthouse keeper's residence into a vertiginous, sunken sculptural environment, drawing inspiration from the distinctive geology of the Basque coast and its turbulent waters.

Further information and screening dates will be published shortly.
