RSVP hereKing Karl XIV Johan had far-reaching plans to build an art museum on the Rosendal Terrace, designed by the architect Fredrik Blom. Marble elements were commissioned for the grand building, but the museum was never realised. Nearly 200 years later, the artist Monika Sosnowska has drawn inspiration from the king’s plans and created the work Museum for Princess Estelle Sculpture Park. What were the king’s intentions for his museum? And what happened to the marble elements?
During Stockholm Art Week, we offer guided tours on 25 and 26 April at 1 pm and 3 pm.
Meeting point at the intersection of Folke Bernadotte Bridge and F. A. Lidströmers väg, by the sculpture Hoop-La. The tour ends at the Rosendal Terrace and lasts approximately 45 minutes. It is conducted in Swedish, but can also be given in English if needed.
