“In 2004, Shonibare lived in Stockholm and made his first film work – a ballet about the murder of Gustav III where the dancers wore clothes made of patterned fabrics. Ann Victorin followed Yinka Shonibare from the African fabric market outside London to the filming location of the ballet at Confidencen in Ulriksdal outside Stockholm. A film from 2004.”

In connection with the inauguration of Yinka Shonibare CBE’s public sculpture Wind Sculpture in Bronze I at Djurgården, Yinka Shonibare CBE came to Moderna Museet on 1 June for a public conversation with Lena Essling, curator of Moderna Museet and Sara Sandström Nilsson, Executive Director of the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation.
